Tara Fraser - Yoga For Beginners

I'm not the yoga type. I don't even consider yoga a real sport, more like extensive stretching exercises. Some poses strengthen a few muscles in the legs and core, but none develop the endurance that is so important to me. So why did I take up yoga practice, and why am I recommending a textbook?

Because I wanted my mobility back after the pregnancy, and I have had very good experiences with this textbook. With a baby in the house there is no time for endurance sports anyway.

Yoga For Beginners: Let's Leave Out The Meditation For Now

I've been looking for a yoga textbook that has as little meditation as possible and preferably no talk about any energy meridians at all. I just want the exercises. Tara Fraser's " Yoga for Beginners: The Home Exercise Program* " is made for me. It does have breathing exercises in it, but I can just scroll down to the yoga postures and start picking some.

They're just the simplest exercises for beginners , with everyday names like "triangle." Ms. Fraser doesn't prescribe any fixed exercise routines, instead recommending that you create your own morning sessions. Because yoga should be done in the morning before breakfast practice, she writes, and since I tried it once after breakfast and almost threw up, I've been sticking to it.
